Terms and Conditions for The Career Psychologist Services
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline how we’ll work together during your career psychology journey. By engaging my services, you’re agreeing to these Terms.
Service Provider: Sinead Brady trading as The Career Psychologist, registered in Ireland.
1. What We Offer
My services include career guidance, leadership coaching, and career development support. I use psychological principles and techniques to help you make informed career decisions, build essential career management skills, and achieve your professional goals.
A core part of our work involves exploring and strengthening your career and leadership identity, helping you understand who you are in your professional life and how you want to lead.
My approach focuses on deep dialogue, reflection, and practical strategies, rather than relying on standardised psychometric assessments.
Please know that I don’t provide medical, legal, or financial advice.
2. Your Role in Our Work Together
a. You’re at the Heart of the Process: Whether you’re personally funding our sessions or your organisation is sponsoring them, please know that you remain absolutely central to our work together. My focus is always on your individual career goals, leadership development, and career development.
b. Active Participation: I ask that you actively participate in our sessions, complete any agreed-upon tasks or exercises, and be open to self-reflection and feedback.
c. Honesty and Disclosure: To make our work as effective as possible, please provide accurate and truthful information relevant to your career situation and goals.
d. Timeliness: Please attend scheduled sessions punctually and give reasonable notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.
e. Respectful Conduct: Let’s always engage with each other in a respectful and professional manner.
3. My Commitment to You
a. Professional Conduct: I’ll provide services with professionalism, integrity, and in line with the ethical guidelines of the Association for Business Psychologists (ABP), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the Career Development Institute (CDI).
b. Confidentiality: I maintain strict confidentiality of all information you share during our sessions, subject to the important limits explained in our Privacy Policy.
c. Competence: I only offer services within my areas of competence and expertise. If your needs fall outside my scope, I’ll do my best to provide appropriate referrals.
d. Professional Boundaries: I’ll maintain clear professional boundaries to ensure our working relationship is ethical and effective.
4. Our Working Relationship & Communication
a. Personalised Attention: When you work with me, you work directly with me. I don’t delegate my client work to others, ensuring you receive consistent, dedicated, and personal support.
b. Thoughtful Responses: I aim to respond to your queries and provide session notes within 48 hours. However, many of your career questions are nuanced and require deep thought and careful consideration from my side. Providing a truly helpful and appropriate response often takes time, and a quick reply isn’t always possible or in your best interest. Thank you for understanding that quality and thoughtful engagement are my priorities, even if it means a slightly longer response time occasionally.
5. Fees and Payment
a. Fees: My fees for services will be clearly communicated to you before we start any engagement. All fees are [e.g., per session, per package, hourly rate] and are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
b. Payment Terms: Payment is due [e.g., in advance of each session, within 7 days of invoice, monthly subscription, upon completion of package]. I accept payment via [e.g., Stripe, bank transfer, credit card].
c. Late Payment: If payment has not been received in advance, your session will not be held. Where payment is delayed on agreed packages or invoices, services may be paused until the balance is cleared.
6. Scheduling, Cancellations, and Rescheduling
a. Session Duration:
- Typical virtual sessions are 60 minutes.
- Typical in-person sessions are 90 minutes.
- Support for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial programs extends to 120 minutes for regular sessions, with quarterly 180-minute (3-hour) sessions.
b. Cancellations by Client: If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, you must provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, or no-shows, will be charged the full session fee.
Please note: For in-person meetings, this 48-hour notice is crucial. It allows us to avoid cancellation fees for the meeting room that I reserve specifically for our work together.
c. Cancellations by The Career Psychologist: In the rare event that I need to cancel a session, I’ll provide as much notice as possible and offer to reschedule at your earliest convenience. You won’t be charged for sessions I cancel.
7. Duration and Termination
a. Duration: The length of our engagement will be agreed upon collaboratively and can vary depending on your needs.
b. Termination by Client: You can end our services at any time by providing written notice. Any outstanding fees for services already provided will be immediately due.
c. Termination by The Career Psychologist: I reserve the right to end services if, in my professional judgment, our working relationship is no longer productive, ethical, or safe, or if you consistently don’t adhere to these Terms. If this happens, I’ll explain my reasons and, where appropriate, provide referrals to other professionals.
8. Confidentiality and Data Protection
My commitment to confidentiality and how I protect your data is detailed in our separate Privacy Policy, which is an important part of these Terms. By agreeing to these Terms, you’re also agreeing to our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
Any information, content, materials, tools, exercises, or resources shared with you during any service, including individual sessions, courses, workshops, or programs, are and remain the copyrighted intellectual property of The Career Psychologist.
These materials are provided for your personal use and to support your individual career and leadership development journey only. 10. Limitation of Liability
a. I’ll provide services with reasonable care and skill. However, I can’t guarantee specific outcomes or results. Your success in achieving your career goals depends on various factors, including your active participation, commitment, and external circumstances.
b. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I won’t be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or in connection with the services, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of opportunity, or emotional distress.
11. Force Majeure
Neither of us will be liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations due to events outside our reasonable control, including illness, technical failure, or public emergencies.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes related to these Terms will be handled exclusively by the courts of Ireland. Clients residing in the UK or EU may also contact their national data protection authority.
13. Amendments to Terms
I may update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you in writing, and your continued engagement with my services after that notification will mean you accept the revised Terms.
